Abstract: The theory of total positivity was developed by Lusztig around 30 years ago. Since then, studies of total positivity have explored many interesting geometric, combinatorial and representation-theoretic structures, and made connections to diverse areas such as canonical basis, cluster algebras, and higher Teichmuller theory. In this talk, I will discuss some recent results of certain compactified spaces in total positivity, as well as its connections to higher Teichmuller theory.
