Pearl Symposium on Geomtry II, 2017

October 7-10, 2017, Sun Yat-sen University

Written by:GAPA

Purpose:

Pearl Symposium on Geomtry (PSG) consists of a few conference talks. It aims to bring together speakers and the researchers in Guangdong/Hong Kong to communicate on recent progress in algebraic/symplectic geometry, mathematical physics and related topics. This is the second one. The first PSG was held in Southern University of Science and Technology during September 21-24, 2017.

Organizers:

HU, Jianxun  (Sun Yat-sen University)

Title and Abstracts:

Title:On some problems in birational geometry in positive characteristic (by Yifei Chen)

Abstract: In this talk, we will introduce recent developments on birational geometry in positive characteristic, including results on subadditivity of Kodaira dimension, canonical bundle formula and semi-positivity in a field of positive characteristic. This is based on my joint works with Caucher Birkar, Yi Gu, and Lei Zhang.

Title:Special Geometry (by Naichung Conan Leung)

Abstract: Spaces with special holonomy include Calabi-Yau, HyperKahler and G2 geometries. In this talk, I will introduce these geometric structures and explain their relationships with Physics.

Title:Seifert conjecture in convex case (by Chungen Liu)

Abstract: In this talk we give a brief introduction to some recent progress on Seifert conjecture. This conjecture concerns the multiplicity of brake orbits of some reversible Hamiltonian systems proposed by Seifert, a Germany geometrician, in 1948.

Title:Quantum Field Theory and F-Manifolds (by Jae-Suk Park)

Abstract: The F-manifold is a weaker version of Frobenius manifold structure (Saito-WDVV-Drbrobin structure) formalized by Hertling-Manin. We show that the moduli space M of anomaly free quantum field theory has a formal F-manifold structure, which encodes all quantum correlation functions. Such F-manifold structure shall be the leading part of a torsion-free flat super h-connection on TM.
